What a good consultation should actually feel like

A consultation is not a sales appointment. It is an assessment, and the most useful thing that can come out of one is sometimes the recommendation to do nothing at all.

What should happen

You should be asked about your medical history, what you have had done before, what you are taking, and what is actually bothering you — in your words, not from a menu. A practitioner who examines your face before suggesting a treatment is doing it in the right order.

What you should ask

Ask who will be carrying out the treatment, and what their clinical qualification is. Ask what the realistic outcome looks like, how long it lasts, and what happens if you do not like it. Ask what the plan is if the first result is not enough — a staged approach is a sign of conservative practice, not indecision.

What should not happen

You should not be asked to decide on the day, and you should not be given a discount for doing so. Pressure and time-limited pricing belong in retail, not in a clinical setting.

At Fafa Aesthetics & Wellness every consultation is carried out by Fatma Sedoud, RN, BSN, and the same nurse who assesses you performs the treatment and reviews the result once it has settled.
